Federal Trademarks

Its usually a no-brainer to register your mark with the Oklahoma Sectary of State.  However, the protection with teeth comes through securing trademark registration through the United States Patent and Trademark Office. A federal trademark provides you with nation-wide protection and the ability to use legal remedies stop other people from harming or profiting off of your trademark.

Additionally, with a federally registered mark, you can recover profits, damages, costs and attorney fees from someone who infringes on your mark, including potentially three-times the amount of damage you suffer in some cases.

Many times your intellectual property is one of your business’s most valuable assets.  You can use a federal trademark to protect it in a way that recognizes it value.

If you have questions about trademarks or the process of securing a trademark from the USPTO, let me know.
